Tinubu 2027: Renewed Hope Ambassadors Recruit 98,325 in Ondo

President Bola Tinubu has directed the recruitment of 25 volunteers from each polling unit in Ondo State to support his re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election, according to the state coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

The initiative, announced by coordinator Victor Olabimtan, will see 98,325 individuals recruited across the state’s 3,933 polling units. These volunteers, termed canvassers, will engage in grassroots mobilisation with a target of convincing at least five voters each to support the president. Olabimtan stated the group was inaugurated in Akure on Tuesday as part of a nationwide 36-state programme designed to communicate the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda directly to communities.

The coordinator detailed that each canvasser will receive remuneration for three months prior to the election and two months after, with payments made directly by President Tinubu and Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. “The work of winning elections is at the polling units,” Olabimtan said, emphasising that the strategy focuses on the most local level of the electoral process. He explained the Renewed Hope Ambassadors aim to bridge communication gaps by disseminating accurate information on federal policies and collecting grassroots feedback.

Olabimtan, who also chairs the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, outlined that members were selected based on pedigree and are expected to strengthen ties with All Progressives Congress structures from wards to the state level. This network is intended to promote party unity and ensure consistent messaging about government programmes.

He clarified that the new group will not disrupt the activities of existing Tinubu support organisations in the state, praising Governor Aiyedatiwa’s role in the selection process. The ambassadors’ core mandate includes public education on federal reforms and interventions under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The scale of the Ondo recruitment—totaling nearly 100,000 people—highlights an early, structured approach to building a localised campaign network for the 2027 election. By focusing on the polling unit level, the strategy seeks to create a vast, remunerated presence aimed at direct voter engagement and information dissemination between the federal government and grassroots communities over the next three years.
