FCMB Capital Markets Tops FMDQ Debt Table With N1.53trn

FCMB Capital Markets Limited raised ₦1.53 trillion in corporate debt through bond listings and commercial paper quotations on the FMDQ Securities Exchange in 2025. The transaction volume secured the top rank on the exchange’s Fixed Income Primary Markets Sponsors’ League Table for the year ended December 31, 2025.

Data from the securities exchange shows the investment banking subsidiary accounted for 11.66 percent of all bond listings and 7.68 percent of commercial paper quotations. These market shares placed the firm ahead of all other participating registration members. Throughout the reporting period, the exchange recorded 58 members contributing to new listings and 77 managing quotations. A total of 47 institutions actively sponsored fixed-income instruments, excluding federal government securities.

Femi Badeji, Executive Director of Coverage and Investment Banking at FCMB Group, stated that the ranking reflects sustained issuer confidence in the firm’s transaction structuring and execution processes. He noted that mobilizing more than one trillion naira within a twelve-month period demonstrates consistent institutional demand for domestic capital market funding. Ikechukwu Omeruah, Chief Executive Officer of FCMB Capital Markets, highlighted that the firm continues to prioritize efficient financing solutions that bridge corporate capital requirements with long-term investor portfolios.

The advisory firm has supported debt, equity, project finance, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring mandates across the financial services, energy, real estate, telecommunications, and consumer goods sectors over the past five years. Its sustained activity in domestic fixed-income placements contributed to its selection as Corporate Bond House of the Year at the Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria’s 2025 Investment Banking Awards.

As Nigeria’s debt market continues to develop, local investment banks remain central to pricing, distributing, and managing corporate securities. FCMB Capital Markets maintains its advisory framework to align issuer requirements with evolving regulatory standards and fixed-income market conditions, supporting broader market liquidity and corporate financing access.
