PDP Intensifies E-Registration, Mobilizes Members for 2027 Elections

The Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has directed its Local Government Area (LGA) and Ward executives to accelerate efforts in ensuring that all members complete the ongoing electronic registration process while also driving the enrollment of new members.

The directive was issued during a special Executive Council meeting held at the party’s State Secretariat on Okigwe Road, Owerri. State Chairman Austine Nwachukwu commended the progress recorded so far in the registration exercise, emphasizing that intensifying the e-registration aligns with the Imo PDP’s goal to set a benchmark for other political parties both within and outside the state.

Nwachukwu urged all party members to promptly complete their online registration on the official platform. He also tasked LGA and Ward Chairmen with stronger mobilization strategies to achieve outstanding results. The Chairman reaffirmed the PDP as an inclusive platform open to all Imolites, including prospective candidates, describing the party as the most organized, deeply rooted, democratic, and welcoming political entity in the state, operating under unified leadership free of internal crisis.

In his remarks, the National Secretary and leader of the party in Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, expressed optimism about the party’s prospects following the PDP National Convention, which produced a legally recognized and widely accepted leadership. He noted that the party is now strategically positioned for the 2027 general elections and anticipates a wave of defections by influential politicians into the PDP, reflecting renewed confidence in the party’s leadership and stability at the national level.

The party also outlined additional programmes following the recently concluded Women Summit and the ongoing Imo PDP Football Tournament. A Youth Summit is scheduled in the coming weeks as part of broader efforts to engage and empower more Imolites across the state. With a strong grassroots presence, the PDP continues to consolidate its position as a dominant political force in Imo State.
