Giants’ Matt Nagy Praises QB Jaxson Dart’s Skills and Potential

New York Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy has expressed strong confidence in quarterback Jaxson Dart, praising the young player’s skills and leadership qualities. Speaking at the start of the Giants’ offseason program, Nagy revealed he has been impressed with Dart since before joining the team in New York.

Nagy, who previously served as offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, said he closely followed top quarterback prospects last year despite the Chiefs not targeting a quarterback in the first round of the draft. Among those prospects, Dart stood out.

“I was able to watch a decent amount of Jaxson last year when I was in Kansas City,” Nagy said. “We tried to take as little time as possible watching the quarterback position, but every year I will watch just to see the top guys that are there, and I remember coming away impressed with Jaxson and his accuracy.”

Since arriving in New York, Nagy has observed Dart in multiple settings, including the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine and live Giants games. He noted Dart’s toughness, mobility, and poise as standout traits.

“I didn’t know how tough he was and how good a runner he was,” Nagy said. “At the Combine, us not really being in the quarterback market, watching him, just observing how he handled himself in that group of quarterbacks at the Combine, you could see this moxie he had, this it factor. When I got here to New York and started meeting with him, you could tell right away that was true. This kid is different in that way.”

Nagy’s endorsement underscores the Giants’ commitment to developing Dart as their franchise quarterback. Building an offense around him and fostering his growth is now Nagy’s primary responsibility in New York.

If Dart lives up to Nagy’s high expectations, the Giants could be on track for a promising future at the most critical position in football.
