Former APC Chairman Ado Sani Kiri Resigns from Party in Jigawa

Former Jigawa State APC chairman and ex-lawmaker Ado Sani Kiri has formally resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing personal reflection and a decision to step back from active party politics.

In a resignation letter dated March 30, 2026, addressed to the APC Ward Chairman in Kiri Ward, Malam Saliku Mujtapha, Kiri announced his withdrawal from all party activities. The letter, made available to journalists on Friday, states that the decision followed “careful consideration” and marks the end of his formal involvement with the party.

Kiri, who represented the Ringim/Taura Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023, played a significant role in strengthening the APC’s structure in Jigawa State. He was instrumental in the party’s campaigns during the 2015 general elections and subsequent political cycles.

While expressing gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the party’s growth, Kiri did not indicate any intention to join another political party, fueling speculation about his future political direction. Attempts to reach him for further clarification were unsuccessful, as calls to his known telephone line went unanswered.

Political analysts in Jigawa State view Kiri’s resignation as a notable development, given his influence within the APC and his long-standing involvement in the state’s political landscape. His departure raises questions about potential shifts in the party’s dynamics ahead of future elections.

The APC has yet to issue an official response to Kiri’s resignation.
