KADRA Begins Stone Base Laying on ABU Internal Roads in Kaduna

Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA) has begun laying stone base on key internal roads at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, as part of a broader state government initiative to upgrade infrastructure in federal institutions.

The work, which marks the next phase of the ongoing reconstruction of ABU’s road network, is being carried out under the administration of Governor Uba Sani. Officials say the project underscores KADRA’s commitment to delivering durable, high-quality road infrastructure designed to improve mobility, enhance safety, and create a more conducive environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The intervention is part of a wider effort by the Kaduna State Government to support federal institutions with critical infrastructure upgrades. By improving access roads within the campus, authorities aim to reduce congestion, ease transportation challenges, and support the university’s academic and administrative functions.

As construction advances through multiple phases, the ABU campus is gradually being transformed into a more accessible and better-connected academic community. The improvements are expected to align with the state’s long-term infrastructure development agenda, which prioritises sustainable urban mobility and institutional support.

KADRA has assured that the work will be executed to high engineering standards, with attention to durability and minimal disruption to campus activities. The agency also noted that similar interventions are being considered for other federal institutions across the state as part of ongoing infrastructure renewal efforts.
