Nollywood Actor Zubby Michael Joins ADC, Eyes House of Representatives Seat

Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives, representing the Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency of Anambra State. The announcement came on Saturday after he formally registered as a party member in his hometown of Ozubulu, Ward 5, Ekwusigo Local Government Area.

The move marks a shift in the actor’s political alignment. Earlier reports indicated that Zubby Michael had joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. His latest decision to align with the opposition ADC could have significant implications for the political landscape in Anambra State, particularly as the 2027 elections approach.

Zubby Michael’s entry into politics comes amid a growing trend of South-East celebrities joining the ruling APC to rally support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election. These figures are actively involved in the APC City Boys Movement, which aims to strengthen the party’s presence in the region.

Political analysts suggest that Zubby Michael’s high profile and popularity could influence voter sentiment in his constituency. His alignment with the ADC may also signal increased competition in the upcoming elections, as the party seeks to expand its influence in Anambra State.

As the political climate heats up, Zubby Michael’s candidacy is expected to draw significant attention, both from supporters and opponents, as the 2027 general elections draw nearer.
