Tambuwal Accuses Tinubu of Worsening Insecurity, Poverty, Hunger in Nigeria

Nigerian Senator Accuses Tinubu Administration of Deepening Hardship and Insecurity

Senator Aminu Tambuwal, representing Sokoto South, has launched a sharp critique of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of exacerbating insecurity, poverty, and hunger across Nigeria. Speaking at the state congress of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto, Tambuwal argued that the current government has failed to deliver tangible improvements for citizens.

“This administration has only brought more insecurity, poverty, and hunger,” Tambuwal stated, urging Nigerians to assess the government’s performance. He also alleged mismanagement and diversion of public resources, warning that such funds could be used to influence voters ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to Tambuwal, Nigeria’s economic challenges have led to rising unemployment and deepening hardship, falling short of public expectations for effective leadership.

The senator extended his criticism to the Sokoto State Government, accusing it of failing to meet the needs of its people, though he did not provide specific details. Despite these challenges, Tambuwal called on ADC members to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation across the state. “We will continue to mobilise for increased membership in unity and cohesion,” he said, emphasising the party’s commitment to strengthening its structures ahead of future elections.

Tambuwal also appealed to party members to stay resolute in the face of intimidation from the ruling party. “We are standing firm — no shaking, no surrender, no retreat,” he declared, cautioning against efforts to stifle opposition voices. His remarks underscore the growing political tensions in Nigeria as the country grapples with economic and security challenges, setting the stage for heightened political activity ahead of the 2027 elections.
