Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) has appointed Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, a Harvard executive-trained leader and Chairman/CEO of Stanel Group and The Delborough Lagos, as Chairman of its Advancement Management Board. The appointment, announced by the university, brings a seasoned entrepreneur and business innovator to a key institutional role.
Dr. Uzochukwu, widely known as STANEL, has been a member of the UNIZIK Business School’s Board of Directors since October 2021. His new position places him at the helm of the university’s advancement initiatives, aimed at strengthening institutional growth and expanding its global reach.
Beyond UNIZIK, Dr. Uzochukwu holds multiple corporate and academic board positions and is recognized as one of the youngest board members of Igbinedion University Okada. His leadership spans sectors including energy, hospitality, and education, reflecting a broad influence across Nigeria’s business and higher education landscape.
At the inauguration ceremony held at the UNIZIK Business School Hall, Vice Chancellor Professor Ugochukwu Anyaehie expressed confidence in the newly constituted board, highlighting Dr. Uzochukwu’s commitment to institutional excellence and strategic development.
Speaking on his appointment, Dr. Uzochukwu emphasized a vision for impact-driven leadership. “Great institutions are not sustained by history alone, they are propelled by intentional people,” he said. “I come with a responsibility to bring strategic thinking, bold partnership, and a relentless drive for excellence.”
