The Federal Capital Territory Administration has supplied security agencies with a range of equipment to bolster their fight against insecurity in the territory. The distribution includes bullet‑proof vests, hand grenades, helmets and other sensitive security gear, complementing the vehicles handed out by the FCT Minister last year.

FCTA Permanent Secretary Adesola Olusade, who presented the equipment in Abuja, said the administration values the sacrifices of security personnel and will continue to reward their diligence and loyalty. He emphasized that well‑motivated and properly equipped officers are essential for effective policing in a cosmopolitan city like Abuja. “They need to be protected, so we must support their efforts by providing the necessary safety gadgets. We are complementing what the Federal Government has done, and we hope this will boost their courage and gallantry in fighting crime,” Olusade stated.

FCT Commissioner of Police CP Sadiq Abubakar also spoke, assuring that the equipment will be properly deployed and that officers remain committed to their duties. He warned miscreants and criminals to stay away from Abuja, adding, “We will remain committed, and this will enhance our ongoing efforts. It will encourage us to give our best in promoting peace and stability in the FCT. Hoodlums and miscreants should stay away from crime, otherwise we will come after them.”
