Senator Uba Sani, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Kaduna State, said that sustainable national progress requires women to have unfettered access to opportunities. Speaking on International Women’s Day, he emphasized that an inclusive and equitable society must ensure women have seats at decision‑making tables.
The senator noted that women’s interests are reflected in his campaign manifesto. “Through our SUSTAIN manifesto, we seek to empower women as key players in the economy and governance. We aim to provide free antenatal care for expectant mothers and advocate for six months of paid maternity leave in the private sector,” he said. He added that the campaign supports women’s participation in MSME businesses and pledges to increase annual funding for KADSWEF.
The APC candidate also praised women for their contributions to societal development, expressing admiration for their strength, resilience, creativity, and determination. “Despite the obstacles and challenges you face every day, you continue to make history and break glass ceilings. Today, we join you in this celebration and call on policymakers worldwide to take bold actions toward promoting gender equality,” he concluded.
