Istanbul giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe are poised to compete for the signature of Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare this summer, according to transfer expert Ekrem Konur. The 23-year-old forward joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk last summer. However, his future at Molineux is now uncertain due to the club’s struggles in the Premier League, where Wolves currently sit at the bottom of the table and face almost certain relegation to the Championship.
Both Turkish powerhouses are reportedly interested in securing Arokodare on loan, aiming to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season. Additionally, Beşiktaş, the third major club in Istanbul, is said to be monitoring the situation closely. Arokodare has made a name for himself with his physical presence and goal-scoring ability in Belgium, and he signed a long-term contract with Wolves that runs until 2029.
Given the club’s preparation for life outside the Premier League, a loan move could prove mutually beneficial. It would allow Arokodare to gain regular first-team football while providing Wolves the opportunity to assess his development. A potential move to Turkey would not be unprecedented, as the Süper Lig has become an increasingly popular destination for African talent in recent years. Both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe have a history of recruiting promising young forwards, and Arokodare’s profile aligns well with their recruitment strategies.
As the summer transfer window approaches, the competition for Arokodare’s signature is likely to intensify, with all three Istanbul clubs eager to secure a player who could make an immediate impact in Turkish football.
