Vance Defends Trump Gaza Policy Amid Heckling at TPUSA Event

US Vice President J.D. Vance faced vocal opposition at a Turning Point USA event on the University of Georgia campus on Wednesday, as attendees interrupted his remarks to protest Washington’s Gaza policy. Shouts of “Jesus Christ does not support genocide!” and “You’re bombing children!” rang out during his speech, prompting Vance to defend the Trump administration’s Middle East approach.

Vance acknowledged disagreement among young voters on the issue but urged them not to disengage from the Republican Party over a single policy area. He highlighted the administration’s role in brokering a fragile ceasefire in Gaza, contrasting it with what he described as the previous administration’s failures.

The event took place under heightened security after Erika Kirk, widow of TPUSA co-founder Charlie Kirk, canceled her participation citing unspecified threats. Kirk was killed at a university rally last September, a case that has fueled conspiracy theories, including claims he was targeted for opposing US strikes on Iran. Investigators have not conclusively matched the bullet from the crime scene to the alleged assassin’s rifle, according to the suspect’s lawyers.

The incident underscores growing tensions within conservative youth movements over US foreign policy, even as Trump-aligned groups seek to maintain unity ahead of upcoming political battles.
