Kano APC Denies Group’s Withdrawal of Support for Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has dismissed a statement allegedly issued by a group calling itself the Arewa APC Forum, Kano State Chapter, which claimed to withdraw support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid. In a statement released on Saturday, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Auwalu Abdullahi, described the claim as false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to damage the party’s reputation.

The APC clarified that no recognised or constitutionally sanctioned organ within the party has taken such a decision, and that the Kano State Chapter remains fully committed to supporting Tinubu and his administration. The statement read: “The APC in Kano is aware of attempts by certain individuals and faceless groups to create confusion and disunity within the party. We wish to state categorically that this so-called forum is not known to the party structure and does not represent the views of APC members in Kano State.”

The party reaffirmed its confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, highlighting his administration’s focus on delivering good governance, economic reforms, and national development. Under the leadership of Umar Doguwa, the Kano APC urged party members and the public to disregard the statement entirely, describing it as the work of mischief-makers intent on causing unnecessary tension.

The statement concluded by reiterating the party’s unity and unwavering support for Tinubu’s vision for a better Nigeria. It also noted that the purported signatory of the withdrawal statement is faceless and not a recognised stakeholder of the party at any level in Kano.

The APC’s swift rebuttal underscores its determination to maintain party cohesion and counter efforts to sow discord within its ranks ahead of future political engagements.
