Ahmed Dangiwa Thanks President Tinubu for Housing Ministry Role

Ahmed Dangiwa, outgoing Minister of Housing and Urban Development, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in the Federal Executive Council and contribute to the Renewed Hope Agenda. His remarks come in the wake of a cabinet reshuffle that saw him and Finance Minister Wale Edun exit office.

In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media and Strategy, Mark Chieshe, Dangiwa described his tenure as both an honour and a responsibility in national service. He said he was privileged to lead reforms in Nigeria’s housing and urban development sector, calling the experience deeply fulfilling.

The former minister extended appreciation to members of the Federal Executive Council, government colleagues, housing agency heads, development partners, and ministry staff for their cooperation throughout his time in office. He also thanked President Tinubu for the confidence placed in him to serve as Honourable Minister, noting that expanding access to affordable housing for Nigerians was a rare privilege.

Dangiwa highlighted progress made under Tinubu’s leadership, including the repositioning of the housing sector as a driver of economic growth, job creation, and social inclusion. He pointed to the rollout of the Renewed Hope Housing Programme, strengthened public-private partnerships, and reforms in land administration and housing finance as key achievements.

While acknowledging the directive to complete handover procedures, he assured a smooth and coordinated transition. Dangiwa reaffirmed his support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and expressed confidence in the incoming leadership’s ability to build on existing progress.

He pledged continued dedication to national development, particularly in advancing housing, infrastructure, and economic growth initiatives. The outgoing minister concluded by commending the commitment of ministry staff and stakeholders across the housing value chain for laying strong foundations for a more structured and sustainable housing delivery system in Nigeria.
