APC vows to oust Osun Governor Adeleke by Aug 15, 2026

Osun State – On Wednesday, Oluwole Oke, Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign organisation, declared that the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, will defeat incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke before 10:00 p.m. on election day, 15 August 2026.

The statement was made during the inauguration of more than 800 members of the APC’s campaign council for the 2026 governorship election. Oke, appointed as the council’s Director General, outlined the structure of the campaign operation, which includes committees on peace and resolution, mobilisation, women’s participation, media and publicity, youth and civil society, social engagement, research and strategy, legal affairs, medical outreach, diaspora affairs, entertainment, and non‑indigene representation.

According to Oke, the council has already begun grassroots mobilisation and mobilisation activities across the state’s three senatorial districts. He criticised the current administration’s handling of state resources, arguing that the government has underperformed in education, health, agriculture, mining and other public sectors. “The incumbent is gone. His days in office are numbered,” Oke said, adding that the APC’s objective to unseat Adeleke is “non‑negotiable.”

The APC’s campaign narrative positions Oyebamiji as a candidate who will “rescue Osun from the drift of collapse” attributed to the present administration. Oke pledged that the party will address socio‑economic challenges such as poverty, unemployment and governance deficits, promising programmes aimed at restoring what he described as the state’s “lost glory.” He also criticised the current government’s payroll practices, stating that paying salaries without delivering services is not an achievement.

The campaign council’s composition reflects a broad-based approach, with each committee led by designated chairpersons and secretaries. The structure is intended to coordinate efforts across diverse constituencies, including women, youth, diaspora communities and non‑indigene groups.

Oke concluded his remarks by reiterating the party’s confidence in its electoral prospects: “We are experts in removing a sitting governor. We will remove Adeleke before 10:00 p.m. on 15 August 2026. Bola Oyebamiji will win and be declared the validly elected governor of Osun.”

The inauguration marks a key milestone for the APC as it intensifies its campaign ahead of the August election, a contest that will determine the political direction of Osun State for the next four years. Media outlets and observers will monitor the council’s mobilisation activities and the emerging electoral dynamics in the run‑up to poll day.
