The airline announced the suspension on its official X account on Saturday, stating that the issue was identified shortly after passengers had boarded and that the aircraft was withdrawn from operation in accordance with standard safety protocols.
The carrier confirmed that all passengers were safely de‑boarded while engineers addressed the fault. “At Air Peace, the safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew will always take precedence over operational schedules,” the statement read. The airline added that the decision to suspend the flight was made to prevent any risk to passengers and crew, despite the inconvenience caused.
Affected travellers were promptly notified and offered hotel accommodation as well as other support services. Air Peace also arranged for a replacement aircraft to depart from London, aiming to resume the flight later the same morning. “To minimise further disruption, a replacement aircraft from London will be dispatched and passengers are scheduled to depart this morning,” the airline said.
The Lagos‑London route is one of Air Peace’s flagship international services, linking Nigeria’s commercial hub with the United Kingdom’s capital region.
