Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo revealed that her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, was the subject of rumors about impotence in his home country because, at age 35, he had not fathered a child despite his high profile and financial success. The speculation grew from comparisons with his peers; many of his friends and fellow musicians already had children, while he remained child‑free despite multiple past relationships.
In a candid interview with media personality Chude Jidenowo, Ojo described the pressure the couple faced before the birth of their first child in August 2025. She said the rumors persisted even after their son arrived, with critics suggesting the baby might have been the result of surrogacy or implantation rather than a natural pregnancy. “In Tanzania, people thought he was impotent because he did not have a child or ‘babymama’ like his many friends and colleagues,” she explained. “They were like, ‘Why is he not having kids like his friends?’”
Ojo noted that Jux remained focused on his own timeline. “He knew when it was time. He is very disciplined. He knew what he wanted. You can roll with certain people and not be like them,” she added.
The couple’s marital journey began with a civil ceremony in Tanzania in February 2025. They later relocated to Lagos, Nigeria, where they held traditional and white‑wedding celebrations in April 2025. Their first child, a boy named Prince Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala, was born in Canada in August 2025.
The episode highlights lingering cultural expectations surrounding marriage and parenthood in East Africa, where childbearing is often seen as a benchmark of masculine success. While Juma Jux’s career continues to thrive, the couple’s experience underscores the personal challenges public figures may face when private matters become subjects of public debate. Both Ojo and Jux have not commented further on the rumors, choosing to focus on their new family life. Their story adds to ongoing conversations about societal pressure, reproductive choices, and the scrutiny faced by celebrities across the African continent.
