NABTEB fixes registration deadlines for 2026 entrance, certificate exams

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has set 24 May and 31 May 2026 as the final dates for registration for the May/June In‑School Certificate examinations and the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE). The deadlines were confirmed by Dr Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, NABTEB’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, in a statement released to the press on 13 May 2026.

Dr Mohammed said that registration remains open nationwide and has been streamlined through a series of online portals. Schools wishing to enrol candidates for the May/June In‑School exams must first request allocation slots from their respective State Offices, capture biometric data using the NABTEB Biometric Software and then complete the process on the official portal at mayjune.nabteb.gov.ng. School officials will receive login credentials from the State Office, log into the school portal, make the required payments and finalize registration through school.nabteb.gov.ng.

For the NCEE, candidates are required to obtain Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) from their State Offices and register via the Common Entrance portal at commonentrance.nabteb.gov.ng. The board also allows individual candidates to create accounts, log in and complete registration directly online. Schools can facilitate bulk registrations by obtaining the same login details from the State Office. All payments and final confirmation of registration are to be processed through the unified portal student.nabteb.gov.ng.

The board’s chief executive urged schools, parents, guardians and prospective candidates to take full advantage of the registration window and complete all necessary steps before the stipulated cut‑off dates to avoid last‑minute complications. He emphasized strict adherence to the registration guidelines and the accurate submission of candidate information.

Applicants and educational institutions with queries are advised to contact the nearest State Office or consult the official NABTEB registration websites for further assistance. Dr Mohammed reiterated NABTEB’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance service delivery and examination administration across the country.

With the deadlines rapidly approaching, stakeholders are expected to finalize registrations promptly, ensuring a smooth start to the 2026 examination cycle.
