The Kaduna State Police Command has pledged to deal decisively with all culprits involved in the recent attack in Southern Kaduna, in accordance with the law. Public Relations Officer DSP Muhammad Jalige confirmed to reporters in the state capital that gunmen did indeed strike the southern part of the state in the early hours of Sunday. He assured that security operatives are fully engaged and that every perpetrator will be apprehended.
According to Jalige, the trouble began a few days earlier when a boy tending cattle was murdered. “We have been trying to manage the situation while investigating that tragic incident before the violence escalated,” he said. A joint security team will comb the area’s bushes on Sunday afternoon to search for any bodies and to capture those responsible for the killings. “We are on top of the situation, and all the hoodlums responsible will be rounded up,” he added.
Jalige emphasized that, without the timely intervention of joint security personnel coordinated by the Area Commander, the terrorists could have enjoyed a “field day.” He acknowledged that repelling the attackers was a difficult task for the security agencies, but noted that they succeeded as the terrorists fled the scene.
