The General Officer Commanding 7 Divisional and Commander Sector 1 Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Waidi Shaibu, disclosed this while on an operational visit to assess the combat readiness of frontline troops deployed to Gwoza.

In a post on the official Nigerian Army Facebook page on Monday, Shaibu urged troops to remain dogged and deal decisively with the Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province terrorists within their Areas of Operations.

It partly read, β€œThe GOC admonished the troops to remain courageous, disciplined and professional in routing the remnants of the BHTs and ISWAP terrorists, urging them to eschew all acts inimical to the actualisation of their operational mandate.

β€œHe warned the troops that acts of indiscipline or cowardice would not be condoned, urging them to desist from substance abuse and be contended with their pay. He urged troops to maintain an offensive posture, charging them to remain vigilant at all times, while equally emphasizing that the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign was by no means over.”
