Serie A: He’s not the same player – Inter Milan to send Lukaku back to Chelsea

Inter Milan CEO, Giuseppe Marotta, has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku will return to Chelsea this summer.

The Belgian striker was sent on loan to the Serie A side last year after failing to deliver following his £97m transfer to Chelsea in 2021.

Lukakau, who was decisive in Inter’s Scudetto win in the 2020/2021 campaign, has failed to replicate his best form at the San Siro.

“The loan was for one season, so on June 30, regardless of how well he plays, he’ll go back to Chelsea.

“Lukaku is a case in point. Lukaku hasn’t found the fitness he needs to play his best football.

“He’s still not at his best or the player we got to see in years gone by,” Marotta told Sky Italia.
