Nollywood producer and actress Funke Akindele has announced her next feature film, “The Four: No One Fights Alone,” scheduled for a global cinema release on 11 December 2026 through FilmOne Entertainment. Akindele wrote, directed and produced the project under her Funke Akindele Network banner.
The ensemble drama centres on four women led by Akindele’s character, Esosa, who unite to safeguard a young man’s future. Themes of loyalty, courage, sacrifice and family anchor the narrative. Joining Akindele in the core quartet are Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha and recording artist Waje.
The supporting cast spans Nollywood and Kannywood veterans alongside newer talent. Richard Mofe-Damijo, Antar Laniyan, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Ali Nuhu, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Uzor Arukwe and Wunmi Toriola round out the principal ensemble. Musicians Shoday, Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho and Ayomide Iwasokun also feature in acting roles.
Announcement visuals released alongside the news show the cast styled in structured traditional and contemporary tailoring. Styling was handled by Zack Styling Luxury, with costumes from Ola Reay and ASO Nigeria. Principal photography for the promotional material was led by Deji Oluokun.
Akindele has established a consistent track record with December holiday releases, including “A Tribe Called Judah” and “Battle on Buka Street,” both of which performed strongly at the West African box office. The 2026 date positions “The Four” as a tentpole title for the year-end cinema season, a period that typically drives peak attendance across Nigeria and the diaspora.
FilmOne Entertainment, which handles distribution, has not yet disclosed international territory rollout plans beyond the global cinema designation. Further promotional assets and a trailer are expected in the months leading up to the December premiere.
