The beat of Afrobeat isn’t the only thing Davido is dropping these days—he’s also laying down some sharp words for the opposition. The global superstar, born David Adeleke, took a direct hit at the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, accusing the party of trying to derail progress in Osun State.
His trigger? A sea of faces at the inauguration of the Lagere Flyover in Ile-Ife, a project delivered by his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke. Sharing a video of the massive turnout on his X account, Davido didn’t hold back: “Jesus, see Ile-Ife crowd!! For @AAdeleke_01!!! Done deal! You can’t stop God’s project.”
The singer then turned his fire on the APC, questioning their very name. “APC is just backward. Why would they be doing anything to stop progress? Thought y’all were progressives,” he wrote, mixing disbelief with a dash of sarcasm.
The event itself marked a milestone for the ancient city, as Governor Adeleke officially opened the flyover and the dualised Mayfair Roundabout–Palace Junction Road. For Davido, it wasn’t just about asphalt and infrastructure—it was a sign that no political maneuver can stand in the way of what he sees as a divine mandate.
