Guber election: Ogun Labour Party candidate drums support for PDP

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Ogun State, Kehinde Sogunle, has charged all members of the Obidient Movement to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday.

Obidients are supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Speaking on a radio station in Abeokuta on Thursday night, Sogunle said the Labour Party and the Obidient Movement would support Hon. Ladi Adebutu of the PDP to emerge the next Governor of Ogun.

The former Commissioner for Finance under the Gbenga Daniel administration said the blueprint of Adebutu is in tandem with his vision for a better Ogun and Nigeria in general.

According to him, the ruling party in Ogun State had frustrated the Labour Party by planting moles within its ranks.

This, he said, was why the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not include Labour Party in the list of its candidates in Ogun State.

His words: “All politics is local. We are Obidients and we know how the APC decided to rig us out, but we know we are going to get the mandate at the end of the day.

“Locally, we also looked at the fact that APC in their usual way, did all they could to create a political monopoly. They frustrated our candidature at all levels by putting moles in our party. We as labour people who believe in equality and as social justice believe there must be a way. And that way is in working with people of like minds, party of like minds, party that is inclusive, that is looking for progress. In our search, we found out that we can work very closely with the PDP.

“I want to urge all Obidients, all Labour Party members, the youths, Christians, Muslims and everybody to go out on Saturday and vote for the PDP.”
