Ogun: NNPP candidate, Oguntoyinbo calls for cancellation of election over alleged irregularities

The gubernatorial candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ogun State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has called for the cancellation of the gubernatorial election in the state.

The NNPP also raised an alarm over alleged intimidation of voters in the state.

Media Talk Africa reports that the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections were held in all the local government areas in the state.

Oguntoyinbo while speaking on the conduct of the elections, declared that the elections were characterised by irregularities.

The NNPP candidate made these submissions shortly after he cast his vote at polling unit 027 Adebimpe, Ofada Ward in Ogun State.

The NNPP candidate noted that the elections were marred by intimidation of voters, manipulation and vote buying.

Oguntoyinbo alleged one lady, Kemi Ayodeji, the APC agent, was in charge of vote buying.

He added that there was evidence of irregularities in the conduct of the elections.

He further alleged that majority of voters were not provided the right to freely express their franchise.

He also alleged that the logo of his party was allegedly omitted on the ballot paper.

He then used the opportunity to call for cancellation of the elections.

Oguntoyinbo called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the election as a result of the aforementioned irregularities.

He said, “Called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the election as a result of what he has observed.

“Those are things we had complained about before now, urging INEC to rectify.

“Nevertheless, I waited patiently before casting my vote”.
