UCL: They’re dangerous – Paul Merson predicts team to qualify for semi-final between Chelsea, Real Madrid

Arsenal legend, Paul Merson, has predicted Chelsea to qualify for the Champions League quarter-final stage ahead of Real Madrid.

Chelsea and Real Madrid will clash in the Champions League last-8 in April.

Both teams were drawn to face each other during the Champions League quarter-finals draws on Friday.

However, Merson expects Chelsea to advance to the semi-final ahead of Real Madrid, insisting that the Premier League giants are dangerous.

“They have got good players,” Merson told Sky Sports. “You look at the team last week and he’s gone three at the back. He’s gone solid at the back and I have got a lot of talent going forward.

“When you go three at the back, believe it or not, you get more players getting forward because you have got the two wing-backs, you’ve got Kovacic who can bomb forward and then you have three in front of them.

“And that is three from seven he’s got so much to choose from. It’s about getting it right every week.

“These are dangerous. I think Chelsea are a dangerous, dangerous football team. The Champions League draw is not kind, but I expect them to beat Real Madrid over two legs.”
