Benue guber poll: APC’s Alia leads as INEC announces 11 LGAs results

The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Fr Hyacinth Alia, is currently leading in the Saturday election in Benue State from the results of 11 local government areas announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Alia, a suspended Roman Catholic priest, garnered 194, 555 votes while Titus Uba of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP scored 99, 860 votes.

Despite thuggery and alleged vote suppression that characterised the election in many parts of the state on Saturday, residents trooped out en masse to exercise their franchise.
