Security operatives take over Kaduna amid wait for governorship result

Security operatives have taken over Kaduna and environ as residents in the state await the announcement of winner of the Saturday governorship election.

As of 8.00pm on Sunday, the result of 19 Local Government was announced as APC governorship candidate, Uba Sani was leading with 16,531 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, postponed the announcement of the remaining four local governments till 10am on Monday, for the continuation of announcements of the remaining four local governments.

The Kaduna State government had in a press statement during the announcement of results directed security agencies in the state to be on alert to deal with any miscreant who would disrupt the peace enjoyed by the people of the state.

State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan signed the statement directing operatives to be vigilant.

Shortly after the statement was released, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, the Police and other security agencies were seen parading the streets of Kaduna.
