EPL: Arteta’s warning to Arsenal players ahead of international break revealed

Arsenal goalkeeper, Matt Turner, has revealed manager Mikel Arteta’s warning to his players going away on international duty.

Arteta has told his stars to “keep fit” and come back in good form.

The Gunners are looking to win the Premier League title for the first time since the 2003/2004 campaign.

They are currently eight points clear of Manchester City at the top.

Their run of six consecutive league wins has been halted by the March international break.

A vast array of the current squad have flown out of the UK to fulfil their national team obligations.

Turner has revealed the strong message Arteta sent to his squad ahead of the title run-in.

He said: “I think the message from our manager and the message amongst the players is very clear: you’re going away to keep fit, to keep playing at the highest level, obviously stay healthy, treat your body right and come back firing on all cylinders because we’re definitely not the only club that’s on pause right now.

“We need to come back with the right mentality and be ready to continue to win games.”
