The All Progressives Congress in Kashere ward, Gombe State, has ordered Senator Danjuma Goje to appear before its five‑member committee within the next two weeks over alleged anti‑party activities. Goje, a former governor and the incumbent senator representing Gombe Central (which includes Akko, Yalmatu, and Deba Local Government Areas), recently won reelection to the Senate. He hails from Kashere ward.

Reports indicate that Goje was absent from Governor Muhammadu Yahaya’s re‑election campaign and did not attend President‑elect Bola Tinubu’s visit to Gombe. Speaking to ward members in Kashere after a stakeholders’ meeting, APC Kashere ward chairman Tanimu Abdullahi said Goje had failed to provide the necessary leadership and had abandoned the party during the recent polls. Abdullahi alleged that Goje chose to sponsor candidates who were not members of the APC.

The chairman emphasized that the disciplinary committee was established to give Goje and others a fair opportunity to explain themselves, noting that no individual is above the party. “During the just‑concluded elections, it is unfortunate that Danjuma Goje and his supporters engaged in anti‑party activities, and we are all witnesses to that,” Abdullahi said. “He directed some party members to vote for another party and even provided money for that purpose. Goje, who has benefited from the party for a long time, should be an example, but he has turned against us; this is regrettable.”
