Benue House member-elect escapes death, vehicle burnt

Benue State House of Assembly member-elect for Gboko-West constituency, Mr Aondona Dajoh, has escaped assassination.

Hoodlums were said to have ambushed him while driving home Thursday night.

Though he escaped by the whisker, his vehicle was burnt to ashes.

It was gathered that unknown persons had attacked the member-elect at Gyado Junction in Gboko Local Government Area of the state on Thursday evening.

Sources said he abandoned his car and ran for dear life when the attackers who came in unconfirmed number descended on him.

When contacted, spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene confirmed the incident.

Anene, in a text message to our correspondent, said, “Attack on Hon. Aondona Dajoh is confirmed. Though he escaped unhurt, his vehicle was burnt down.

“Investigation into the case is ongoing please.”
