Atiku, Obi’s supporters want interim govt, inciting Nigerians against Tinubu – Fani-Kayode

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Femi Fani-Kayode, has again slammed the supporters of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

The former Minister of Aviation accused them of inciting Nigerians against President-elect Bola Tinubu and the ruling APC.

Tinubu defeated Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Obi of the Labour Party, LP, in the February 25 election. Both are challenging the victory in court.

On Saturday, in an article titled ‘A word to the dogs of the opposition’, Fani-Kayode declared Atikulators and Obidients “have lost control of their senses” and “need to get a grip before it is too late”.

The former presidential aide said they were attempting to start something they could not finish and were “beating the drums of war”.

He noted that had it not been for the professionalism of intelligence agencies, particularly the Department of State Services, DSS, “we would have trod that disastrous path”.

Fani-Kayode advised opponents to drop their “dastardly gameplan and not so hidden agenda to establish an Interim Government.”

The APC chieftain said instead of weaponising falsehood; they should act within the law, go to court, and state their case with respect, dignity and decorum.

FFK warned that if opposition supporters insist Tinubu must not be sworn in and refuse to have no faith in the courts, they will end up inviting “chaos, tyranny, treason, a breach of the constitution and the law”.

“If you continue to incite, intimidate, threaten, provoke, destabilise, undermine, overheat the polity and breach the rules of engagement, all hell will break lose. Our only “crime” was to win an election.

“Because you cannot bear the fact that you lost, you want to pull the whole house down. Let this serve as a timely warning. We cannot be a punching bag for the opposition forever and soon we will react,” he added.
