The head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, has said that his team played a good game despite the defeat by the Guinea-Bissau opponent in the Group A qualifier for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the National Stadium in Abuja on Friday.

Reacting on his verified Twitter handle on Friday, Peseiro who said the team created many goalscoring opportunities expressed sadness over the outcome of the match.

“We are sad and upset with this bad result. But we played a good game, very attacking, and created many goalscoring opportunities that unfortunately we didn’t take. We want to repeat this performance in Guinea, but scoring. We are going with all our commitment and sacrifice to win,” he tweeted on Saturday.

Guinea Bissau’s Mama Balde scored the only goal of the match, which set his team apart in the 29th minute of game time, taking them to seven points to top the group, brightening their chances of playing in Ivory Coast next year.
