Court removes Adamawa lawmaker, Bororo

The Federal High Court has sacked Member representing Mubi South Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon Musa Umar Bororo.

The Federal High Court II which sat in Yola Monday, ordered the member to vacate his seat with immediate effect for leaving the party under which he won election to the House.

Bororo had in April last year left the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state into the governing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The high court, presided over by Justice Saleh Kogo, ruled that Bororo who got into the House of Assembly under the APC, ought not to defect to PDP and remain in office.

Justice Kogo, however, dismissed suits filed against the member representing Mubi North, Hon Shuaibu Dan Musa and member representing Fufure/Gurin, Hon Shuaibu Babas who similarly defected from the APC to PDP at different times.

He said the APC failed to prove its case against the two.

The state leadership of the APC had dragged the three legislators to court in October last year for leaving to the PDP, and asked the court to order that the Assembly was bound by law to declare their seats vacant.
