Tinubu nominates APC gov, former commissioner into transition council

The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has nominated two persons to the Presidential Transition Council (PTC).

Media Talk Africa reported that President Muhammadu Buhari reserved two slots for the President-elect in the transition council.

On Tuesday, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, who is also the PTC Chairman, Boss Mustapha, stated that Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, Governor of Kebbi State, and a former Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State, Chief Olawale Edun, had been nominated as members of the council.

Mustapha said that he and 15 members and 13 subcommittees would ensure a smooth handover to Tinubu.

He disclosed that Tinubu would nominate 13 members to work with the subcommittees.

Activities to be supervised by the committees include publicity and media, church and Juma’at service, protocol and invitations, logistics, inaugural lecture, ceremonial parade, medicals, venue and swearing-in, dinner night, post-inauguration luncheon and Children’s Day celebration.

“This interface process is necessary to keep Nigerians abreast of developments, build inclusiveness and lay a solid foundation for a peaceful transition of power in our country. The Presidential Transition Council, which was inaugurated on 14th February 2023, is made up of 24 members, which include two persons from the President-Elect’s team,” he said.
