Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya will meet with General Officers Commanding, field commanders, and other senior officers during a scheduled conference from 3 to 6 April 2023. The gathering will review the strategies being employed across the various theatres of operation.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, said the conference will address far‑reaching decisions needed to enable the service to tackle the country’s multifaceted security challenges. He explained that the Chief of Army Staff First Quarter Conference 2023 will provide an opportunity to reappraise the Nigerian Army’s administrative affairs and to evaluate and comprehensively review ongoing operational engagements throughout the nation during the first quarter of the year. This insight will support decisive actions toward achieving the army’s security objectives.
The conference will also allow the COAS to interact face‑to‑face with General Officers Commanding, field commanders, and other senior officers, offering guidance on enhancing army operations and related activities. On the first day, the COAS will present 14 new Toyota Hilux vehicles to Army Warrant Officers who have reached the pinnacle of their careers. Additionally, the newly constructed Faruk Yahaya Historical Park in Asokoro, Abuja, will be inaugurated for public use. The event will conclude with an exhibition showcasing some of the Nigerian Army’s research and development efforts.
