The Federal University Oye‑Ekiti has postponed its computer‑based examinations for one week in response to concerns raised by students and other stakeholders about the conduct of the test. Registrar Mr. Mufutau Ibrahim explained that university management has begun addressing the factors that caused anxiety and agitation among students, and he also dispelled rumors of any casualties.

In a statement released on Friday, Ibrahim noted that Vice‑Chancellor Prof. Abayomi Fasina was present at the ICT centre, the examination venue, on Thursday to deal with the issues. The Vice‑Chancellor has formed a committee to examine all problems identified, ranging from planning and scheduling to allegations of extortion involving some security personnel.

The registrar affirmed that the university regrets the turn of events and has decided to postpone all computer‑based examinations for one week as an immediate, interim measure. He clarified that this postponement does not affect the pen‑on‑paper first‑semester examinations, which will proceed as scheduled.

Ibrahim also assured that the situation is now under control and that no casualties have been recorded. The Vice‑Chancellor, the management team, and university health‑centre personnel were fully available to handle any emergencies. The university sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused by the delay.
