I wish I’d done more – Alkali resigns as NNPP chairman

The National Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Prof. Rufai Alkali, has resigned from the position.

Alkali confirmed this in a letter addressed to the National Secretary of the party.

According to him, his decision to step down was to give room for a fresh hand to take over.

“I am convinced this change must start from me.

“This is precisely why I have decided, with all sense of responsibility, to step aside from the office of the National Chairman of our party to give room for fresh hands to take over to build upon and improve on our modest contributions.

“I wish I had done more,” the letter read in part.

The letter was sent to NNPP’s National Leader and presidential candidate of the party in the just-concluded elections, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Also copied were the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Boniface Aniebonam, and the Secretary, Board of Trustees, Buba Galadima.
