Sokoto govt vows to pay workers salary Thursday

Sokoto State Government has assured its employees who are yet to receive their February salary that they will be paid tomorrow (Thursday).

It noted also that March salary will be paid tomorrow, Thursday.

The state Commissioner of Finance, Dr Ali Inname, stated this today while briefing newsmen after the State Executive Council meeting.

Inname refuted allegations that over 10,000 staff are yet to receive their February salaries as “false, malicious, and misleading.”

He explained that of the total 33,320  civil servants in the state, only 1,054 were yet to receive their February salaries.

He added that the reason for the slight delay in the payment of February salary was the challenges experienced by some banks where the salary of a portion of the state staff were being paid.

He disclosed a total of 1059 to be affected by this.

Inname assured that the challenges have been resolved and the payments will be effected before or within twenty four hours.
