The Management of Government Secondary School in Jeda, Kuje Area, Abuja, has converted the health centre within the school into classrooms due to a shortage of classroom space. The improvisation was highlighted on Thursday when the centre’s facilitator, Senator Philip Aduda, inspected the project along with other initiatives in Kuje and Gwagwalada. Principal Mohammed Tanko explained that the conversion is a temporary measure, pending the completion of a new block of six classrooms that is nearing completion. He added that, in addition to the makeshift classrooms, temporary offices for the principal and vice‑principal are also being set up, allowing academic activities to continue while awaiting the required infrastructure. Tanko expressed gratitude for the borehole that now supplies water to the school and for other intervention projects, such as the block of classrooms and the already completed Primary Health Care Centre now being used as temporary classrooms.
Senator Aduda praised the school’s resourcefulness, noting that the primary health centre is being repurposed rather than vandalised. He urged the school management to maintain the projects and facilities provided, emphasizing the importance of proper care for the newly installed infrastructure.
Chieftain Henry Ugbaja of Kuje commended Senator Aduda’s service to the Federal Capital Territory, stating that the lawmaker has acted without bias toward tribe or religion. Ugbaja highlighted several of Aduda’s empowerment projects, including road construction and the installation of solar lights, noting that a road in Lanto now provides access to more than 25 churches and mosques.
Resident Fatima Yusuf, known as Madam Kuje, described Aduda as “a man of the people,” acknowledging his contributions such as installing lights and water facilities and providing skills‑training for children.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that Senator Aduda also inspected other projects in the two area councils, including the three‑kilometre Angwan Gede Goma Road, the six‑kilometre Lanto Road, the 2.7‑kilometre Angwandodo Road, a functional Primary Health Centre in Paikon Kore equipped with a 24‑hour inverter, the National Youth Development Centre, and the Tunga Maje Road in Gwagwalada Area Council.
