EPL: Burnley becomes first team to win promotion from Championship

Burnley have won promotion to the Premier League, thanks to a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on Friday.

This means the Clarets have confirmed their spot in England’s top flight with seven matches left.

They’ve suffered just two defeats throughout the Championship season.

Vincent Kompany’s men also scored the most goals (76) and conceded the fewest (30) goals in the Championship this year.

With the win, Burnley moved 20 points clear of third-placed Boro and, in doing so, ensured automatic promotion.
