The Senator representing Gombe South Federal Constituency, Bulus Amos, has been suspended by the Ward Executives of Bambam Ward in Balanga Local Government Area. Ward Chairman Muhammad Kaka alleged that the Senate Vice Chairman on the Niger Delta Committee would be probed by a newly formed five‑member committee on anti‑party activities.
Amos’s personal assistant, Manasseh Felix, refuted the allegation, stating that the senator has contributed immensely to the party’s successes at both zonal and state levels. The party’s Publicity Secretary, Moses Kyari, confirmed the suspension in a press statement released to journalists on Saturday. He explained that a petition from the ward prompted the five‑member committee to investigate Amos within a two‑week timeframe.
According to Kyari, the senator was invited to appear before the committee but failed to defend himself against the charges. Consequently, the committee recommended his suspension and eventual expulsion from the party. The order of suspension takes effect from today, Saturday, April 8 2023.
