Hajiya Rabi Aminu Dantata, the wife of renowned Nigerian businessman and elder statesman Aminu Dantata, has died in a hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Her grandson, Sanusi Dantata, confirmed the news on Saturday via his verified Twitter account, writing: “Please pray for our mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, Haj. Rabi, wife of Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who died yesterday after a protracted illness! May Allah forgive her, accept her good deeds, and grant her the highest rank in Paradise, Ameen! Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihirrajiuun!”
Mama Rabi, as she was affectionately known, had been battling a prolonged illness and passed away in her late seventies. She was the second wife of Aminu Dantata and is survived by her husband, six children, and numerous grandchildren. Among her children is Tajjuddeen Dantata, a well‑known figure in Nigeria’s business community. The family has asked for prayers and for Allah to forgive her, accept her good deeds, and grant her the highest rank in Paradise.
