The Executive Committee of the All Progressive Congress in Isaipen Ward 8, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, has suspended its chairman, Mr. Olayode Omorayewa, for abuse of office and mismanagement. The suspension was formalized in a notice signed by 24 ward executives and three local‑government executives from the ward, and addressed to the party’s Local Government chairman. Omorayewa’s suspension takes effect from Sunday, 9 April 2023.

The exco members expressed a loss of confidence in Omorayewa, citing his inability to advance the party. The motion for loss of confidence was moved by the Financial Secretary, Mr. Joseph Oladipo, and seconded by the exco’s representative for special persons, Mr. Oke Abiodun. The suspension notice read:

> “The Executive Committee of Isaipen Ward 8 in Owo, Owo Local Government met today to deliberate on developments inimical to the interest and growth of our party. These developments, capable of derailing the party from attaining its lofty objective of becoming the dominant party in Owo Local Government and the entire state, have remained a matter of concern to all stakeholders.
>
> The exco, in its meeting, reviewed its performance during the recently concluded presidential, senatorial, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly elections. The meeting also examined the strained relationship between the Ward Chairman and other exco members, as well as the interactions between the Ward Chairman, party leaders in Isaipen, and other ward chairmen and unit heads.
>
> After extensive deliberations, it was unanimously agreed that the Ward Chairman is not providing the required leadership and his attitude is creating disharmony across the board within the party. His continued retention as Ward Chairman and suitability must be reviewed in the overall interest of the party.”

Efforts to contact Omorayewa at the time of preparing this report were unsuccessful, as his line was unavailable.
