Gunmen suspected to be hired assassins have killed Sylvester Efeurhobo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Delta State. According to Metro, the APC stalwart was shot dead when the assailants stormed his country home in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area.

Efeurhobo served as chairman of the Achievers Group, an APC support organization in Agbarho. He was described as “a dedicated party faithful, a brother and father, generous to the bone.” In the wake of his death, party members have appealed to security agencies—particularly the police—to “fish out the hooligans and ensure that justice takes its due course.” Party leaders added, “The perpetrators should be brought to book, as we do mourn the deceased.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the killing and said that three suspects have been apprehended as the investigation continues. “Confirmed, we are still investigating. So far, three suspects have been arrested,” he stated.
