A Kano Shari’a Court on Wednesday ordered that two domestic staff be remanded in a correction centre for allegedly stealing jewellery worth N1.4million belonging to their employer.

The police charged Ketura Danjuma,19 and Aisha Abdullahi,18 with criminal conspiracy and theft.

The Presiding Judge, Nura Yusuf-Ahmad, who gave the order adjourned case until May 10, for hearing

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Aliyu Abideen told the court that Malam Khalid Mahmoud of Badawa Layout Kano reported the matter at the Badawa Police Division on March 30.

He alleged that the defendants in January, stole the complainant’s wife’s gold chain and earring in their house in Badawa Layout in Kano.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of sections 120 and 133 of Kano State Shari’a Law 2000 as amended.
