Real Madrid vs Chelsea: What Lampard told us – Enzo Fernandez

Chelsea midfielder, Enzo Fernandez has revealed what caretaker manager, Frank Lampard, told the Blues players ahead of their Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie with Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

Real Madrid will host Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-final first-leg fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Lampard got off to a poor start to his second spell at Chelsea after losing 1-0 against Wolves in the Premier League last weekend.

The defeat against Wolves made it three games without scoring for Chelsea heading into their clash with Real Madrid.

However, Fernandez revealed that Lampard told Chelsea players to keep their heads straight when they face Real Madrid in Spain.

According to him, Lampard wants the current Chelsea players to draw on the experience of winning the European Cup back in 2012 as they face Los Blancos tonight.

“Frank told us to keep our heads straight,” Fernandez was quoted by Daily Mail as saying.

“He told us he won the Champions League in 2012 and mentioned it was in his worst moment at Chelsea. That is a great example for us.”
