The Federal Capital Territory Police Command announced that its operatives thwarted an armed theft operation in Zone E Extension, Apo Resettlement Area, Abuja, on Wednesday. The police also arrested a suspect named Dahiru Muazu in connection with the crime.

According to a statement by FCT police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh, the officers from Apo Divisional Headquarters were on duty at around 6 a.m. on 12 April 2023 when they intercepted the theft. Upon seeing the police, the thieves abandoned an ash‑coloured BMW (registration ABJ 440 KX) that contained three plasma televisions and two laptops stolen from a residence. The vehicle was later found deserted in the neighbourhood.

A pink Volkswagen Golf (registration LUY 899 KV) was also spotted with its engine running. When police arrived, the car sped away. The officers gave chase, intercepting the vehicle at the Video Games Village roundabout. The driver was identified as Dahiru Muazu, also known as “M”.
