German pundit Florian Plettenberg has asserted that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will definitely join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich this summer, sparking a bidding war among Europe’s top clubs, Sports Extra reports. Since moving from Lille to Napoli in 2020, Osimhen has become an integral part of Luciano Spalletti’s side. The 24‑year‑old is enjoying a brilliant season, having scored 25 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions, helping Napoli sit 16 points clear at the top of the Serie A table and reach the Champions League last‑eight.
Although many believe the forward will leave the Italian club at the end of the season—Manchester United being a frequently mentioned destination—Plettenberg announced on Twitter that he is confident the former Lille striker will head to the Bavarians, with talks scheduled for next week. “Osimhen: The 24‑year‑old top striker would definitely join Bayern in summer! Confirmed again today. Bayern bosses like him a lot. His management and the player are aware of it. More talks could follow in the next weeks. It is all about the price and Tuchel,” he wrote.
Bayern have yet to find a suitable replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who departed for Barcelona last summer, and would welcome Osimhen’s arrival. However, Napoli are expected to demand a fee of around €120 million for their most prized asset.
